Traffic Signal Academy


This workshop is introduced participants to new creative technologies from the ground up. Instructors, guided participants through using a free, web-based digital sculpting software to create their own original sculptures. A mesh clean-up process for digital printing was demonstrated. A few 3D prints were made by the end of the workshop. The remainder were printed for pick-up at a later date.

The NSF EPSCoR Regional Outreach: All About Research Center Programs (AARCP) meeting was held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel, 64 South Water Street, Mobile, Alabama 36602.

This event was attended by up to five NSF Center Program Officers and two to three Center Directors who will provide extensive information about the various Centers sponsored by the NSF. The event will also feature breakout sessions where attendees can ask questions about Centers and speak with the attending Program Officers and Center Directors.

This workshop explored the history of the book, as both an aesthetic and functional object, in both theory and practice. The workshop included with a lecture by Art Historian Dr. Karissa Bushman and a hands-on workshop with Book Artist and Printmaker Katie Baldwin.

The footprint of Human Spaceflight is expanding from government owned and operated, to government/industry partnerships, as well as independent commercial ventures. As the market is entering new paradigm and NASA is embarking on a new operating model, now is the time to bring stakeholders together to help shape a safe, reliable human spaceflight industry for the future. To provide for broad representation, participants were project and program managers who will be responsible for shaping NASA’s future over the next 10 – 20 years. This will include representation from Human Spaceflight and Safety organizations across NASA centers and mission directorates, and to include representatives from prime industry partners such as, but not limited to, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, ULA, SpaceX and others alike.

This workshop introduced the basics of Photoshop as well as the most often used tools for applying image-manipulation techniques. The workshop taught methods in using Photoshop imaging combined with watercolor techniques as a form of alternative creative expression.
