Dr. Sundar Christopher has served The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) highly effectively and selflessly for five years as Dean of the College of Science and has decided to return to his passions, teaching and research, effective May 31, 2019.    We are grateful for his leadership and outstanding service and for his many accomplishments as Dean.  We look forward to his academic contributions as Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Science.

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. John Christy as Interim Dean of the College of Science at UAH effective June 1, 2019.   Dr. Christy currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science and Director of the Earth System Science Center.  I have full confidence in Dr. Christy and know that he will serve in the best interests of the students, faculty, and staff of the College of Science and our university.  He is a proven and dynamic leader.  With your help and support, he will move the College forward.  Dr. Christy will serve as Interim Dean until a Dean is hired.  Please join me in welcoming Dr. Christy to his new role here at UAH.
