We are pleased to announce that the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will host the American Astronautical Society’s (AAS) 11th Annual Wernher von Braun Memorial Symposium from October 23-25, 2018. This event brings together high-ranking government officials, industry executives, academia, and others from the aerospace community.

Download the Call for Abstracts for the Student Poster Competition, which will be a centerpiece of this year’s symposium. Current undergraduate and graduate students from all institutions of higher learning are eligible to participate, and students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit an abstract.

In addition, AAS will again be offering the opportunity for one of the poster winners to present their work at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). Next year’s IAC will be held in Washington, DC (October 21-25, 2019).

Please note that abstracts are due no later than Friday, September 7, 2018 at 5PM Eastern Daylight Time.

Generous support from the UAH Office of Vice President for Research and Economic Development will cover the cost of printing the poster for UAH students who are selected to participate in the poster competition. Therefore, UAH participants must submit their completed posters by October 12 noon (12PM CDT), prior to the AAS deadline.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Sincerely,
David Cook
Director of Undergraduate Research
