Best places to work

Four businesses owned or managed by alumni of The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) were awarded as Best Places to Work by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber on April 10.

The winning alumni businesses are:

  • Yellowhammer Brewing, gold, in the small business (25-50 employees) category, alumni Ethan Couch and Don Milligan.
  • Troy 7, silver, in the small business (25-50 employees) category, alumni Lynn and John Troy.
  • i3, silver, in the large business (101-250 employees) category, alumnus Michael Wicks.
  • People-Tec, bronze, in the large business (101-250 employees) category, alumnus Doug Scalf.

"It’s great to see so many of our alumni being recognized for their successful business endeavors and for the collaborations they have created in our community," says Mallie Hale, senior director of UAH Alumni Relations and executive director of the UAH Alumni Association.

The Chamber's Best Places to Work awards honor the "best of the best" member businesses in the Tennessee Valley. Each year, the awards celebrate businesses that create an excellent workplace culture through employee engagement, strong leadership and excellent communication.
