Students listening in class

The UAH Sociology Scholarship was established in 2008 and is awarded based on academic merit to junior or senior students majoring in sociology. Preference is given to those with a demonstrated financial need. This scholarship is renewable for one additional year.

Students eligible for the scholarship must maintain a full-time course load (12 credit hours) each semester. In addition, recipients must complete a total of 24 credit hours each academic year and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for renewal.

To Apply

To apply for the UAH Sociology Scholarship, you must be admitted to UAH and submit a UAH Scholarship Application. The UAH Scholarship Application is used to determine eligibility for all competitive scholarships, and should be submitted by December 15 for priority consideration. Applications received after this date will still be considered for any remaining awards after the initial selection process has been completed.

Recipients should understand that, by accepting this award, they are giving UAH permission to release directory information for news stories and press releases. In addition, the scholarship may be cancelled or reduced if the recipient does not enroll full time, withdraws from classes, fails to attend for a semester or more, graduates, fails to meet the renewal criteria, and/or does not maintain satisfactory academic progress.
