Goals We expect graduate students to design, initiate, and complete a research project. We expect graduate students to conduct a comprehensive literature review. We expect graduate students to write papers and research reports in APA style. We expect graduate students to enter data and conduct appropriate statistical analyses. We expect graduate students to know where to look for resources to solve problems or answer questions (e.g., by asking the appropriate faculty member, by using PsycInfo, by reading the literature). We expect graduate students to maintain and apply a working knowledge of research ethics. We expect graduate students to be able to give a lecture to undergraduates on a topic in their area of study. We expect graduate students to be able to design a syllabus and assignments for a course. We expect graduate students to be able to write a grant proposal. Outcomes Since 2016, 35% of our master’s graduates have gone on to Ph.D. programs. Since 2016, 32% of our graduate students have obtained careers in industry.
