HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Nov. 11, 2013) - International Education (IE) Week at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) kicks off today, Monday, Nov. 11, and runs through Monday, Nov. 18.

Hosted by UAH's Office of International Engagement, the event will feature guest lectures, activities and workshops, and traditional dance performances, as well as a free, all-inclusive Harvest Dinner incorporating traditional Thanksgiving fare.

"This year's IE Week offers UAH and local community members a terrific opportunity to participate in cultural interchange, learn about topics of global importance, explore study abroad options, and celebrate the global communities and cultures represented on our campus," says Dr. Susan Steen, Director and Assistant Provost of the Office of International Engagement. "We're delighted that a number of our student organizations are leading the effort in hosting IE Week activities and events - and we know it will be a fun-filled and educational week."

A number of other organizations across both the UAH campus and the Huntsville community will also be participating, including UAH's Division of Student Affairs, Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures, Department of Political Science, Global Studies Program, Office of Diversity, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Office of Vice-President for Research, Salmon Library, Chinese Student & Scholar Association, French Club, Indian Student Organization, International Student Association, Political Science Club, Salsa Club, Slavic Club, Student Government Association's First Council, the International Services Council of Alabama, and the Fulbright Alumni Association: Alabama Chapter.
