UAH Advanced Placement Program

You’ve worked hard to get where you are, especially if you took Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses. At UAH, we want to acknowledge – and reward – that hard work by giving you credit when applicable. This sheet details the UAH course equivalent for each program course and the semester credit hours that you may receive for it based upon your exam score.

Students should submit official AP scores to the Office of the Registrar for credit consideration. Please note, however, that awarded credits are recorded without grades or quality points, so they are not included when calculating your GPA.

UAH recognizes credit by examination and credit for several types of out-of-class experiences. Credit hours earned by examination and/or out-of-class experiences are not considered UAH institutional coursework, and therefore, may not be applied towards fulfillment of:

  • the minimum of 50 percent of the coursework required to earn a bachelor’s degree that must be earned at a bachelor’s degree granting institution (four-year college or university)
  • the minimum of 25 percent of the coursework required for the degree that must be earned in residence at The University of Alabama in Huntsville

Official scores may be requested at collegeboard.org. UAH AP code: 1854
