When to apply

Priority admittance will be given to individuals who apply by the dates listed. Applications received after these dates will still be evaluated, but an admission decision for your semester of choice is not guaranteed. Submit your application as early as possible to be the most competitive and to receive the greatest selection of classes.

TermPriority Admittance Deadline
(U.S. Students)
Spring November 30
Summer March 15
Fall June 1

Exceptions

Once your application has been submitted and all supporting documentation has been received, it typically takes approximately 15-30 business days for an admission decision to be made. U.S. citizens may apply non-degree seeking if there is not sufficient time for an admission decision or to acquire necessary documents. To obtain a paper application, email Graduate Admissions.

Submit Your Transcript and Scores

Transcripts

Send your official transcripts to UAH through an electronic delivery service such as Docufide/Parchment, E-Scrip, or Student Clearinghouse. If your school does not have access to these services, you can request that they send your official hard-copy transcripts to:

GRE/GMAT/MAT scores

Have your official scores sent directly to UAH by the testing agency:

  • GRE (Science, Engineering, Business)
Minimum score: 300 verbal and quantitative and a 3.0 on analytical writing
    takethegre.com
    Institutional code:1854
  • GMAT (Business)
    Minimum score: 500
    mba.com/gmat
  • MAT (Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences)
    Minimum score: 410
    milleranalogies.com

May the GRE, GMAT or MAT be waived?

There are some exemptions from the GRE/GMAT/MAT requirement.

  1. If you graduated from an accredited college or university five or more years ago and have not been subsequently enrolled since that time, and you have a record of consistent professional achievement as documented on a submitted resume, the GRE/MAT requirements might be waived upon recommendation of the department or program chair. The final decision is made by the Dean of Graduate School. You must submit a written request for a waiver to be sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
  2. If you have an advanced degree from the United States, the GRE/MAT scores might be waived. You should also submit a written request for the waiver and send it to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

Important

Department standards may be higher and these minimum scores do no guarantee admission. Program committees will not consider your application until all documents are received. Please contact the department or program website for any additional required documents.

Transfer Credits

The courses you've previously completed must have prior approval from the Dean of the Graduate School and must have been completed at an appropriately accredited academic institution or at an academic institution with high academic standards deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Graduate Dean.

The maximum credits transferable are 12 hours (or fewer in selected programs); minimum GPA and course completion time limits are applicable. An official transcript indicating completion of the coursework must be submitted. Please contact the Graduate School for information regarding your particular program.
