Many students with a disability are dependent on volunteers to help accommodate their academic needs. At times we may ask for your help in identifying a volunteer to help with accommodations for a student. The most common request of this type will be asking for your help in identifying another student in your class who would be willing to share notes with a student needing accommodations. To identify such a student, we will ask you to make an announcement in your class. Once you have a volunteer, DSS can provide special carbonless paper to the student so that s/he can simply pull off the back sheet and hand it to the DSS student. If you allow laptop computers in your class, the student taking notes can simply email a copy of the file to the student needing accommodations.
