If you reside outside of Madison County, you are considered a remote student and you are not required to test on campus. Please follow these steps to register with our office:

  1. Identify a qualified proctor (see below for details)
  2. Complete our Online Students form
  3. Contact your proctor to schedule your exams throughout the semester. You must have an approved proctor on file at least two weeks before your first exam.

Proctor Selection

You may select a qualified proctor (see description below) to administer your exams closer to your location. Please note that there may be charges associated with a proctoring service such as sitting fees and/or any postage that may be needed.

A qualified proctor meets the following requirements:

  • An employee in the Testing Center of an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution of higher education
  • Public library administrator
  • An employee at a Professional Learning Center, such as Sylvan or Appleton

Co-workers (including supervisors), friends, relatives, tutors, neighbors, and personal or academic advisors are NOT acceptable proctors and will NOT be approved. Exams will only be sent to the physical address or email address of your proctor’s place of employment. "Free" email accounts such as Yahoo, Hotmail, and Gmail are unacceptable. Your proctor must be able to store your exams in a locked and secure location to ensure the integrity of the test. Please contact our office if you need assistance in locating a qualified proctor in your area.

Have your proctor fill out the Remote Proctor Agreement form.
