UAHuntsville Network: Charger ID & Password
A Charger ID account is a universal username and password that allows account holders to access many of the online resources at UAHuntsville, including ANGEL, ResNet, ChargerMail, the Campus Wireless Network, and ChargerNet.
How New Students are Assigned Charger ID Accounts
Before the beginning of each new semester, i.t. solutions runs a program that scans the list of students registered for classes. Every time the program finds a registered student who does not already have an account in the system the program creates a Charger ID account for the student. The process is completely automatic with no action required on the part of the student other than registering for classes.
New students who registered for classes during the Early Registration period are assigned a Charger ID account a week before the start of their first semester at UAHuntsville. Students who register for classes during the Late Registration period immediately preceeding the start of the semester can expect to wait up to 72 hours after registering before their Charger ID accounts are activated.
How to Look Up Your Charger ID Username and Password
To look up your Charger ID username and password, you will need your official UAHuntsville email address and your A-number (sometimes referred to as a Banner number). If you do not know your UAHuntsville email address, you may look it up by following the directions in the ChargerMail guide. If you do not know your A-number number, you have two options for looking it up:
- Find an official letter you received from the university. Your A-number is often printed somewhere on the letter.
- Visit Charger Central in University Center room 118 or the TAG Help Desk in the library. The staff at both locations can look up your A-number for you. You are required to show your Charger Card or some other form of goverment-issued photo ID before the staff can tell you your A-number.
Your Charger ID username is everything to the left of the “@” symbol in your UAH email address. The default Charger ID password is your first and last initials in lowercase followed by the last six digits of your Banner number. For example: John Z. Doe's offical UAH email address is jzd0099@uah.edu, so his Charger ID is jzd0099. John Z. Doe's Banner number is A00112233, so his default password is jd112233.
How to Reset Lost or Forgotten Charger ID Passwords
If you have forgotten your Charger ID password after changing it from the default setting, the TAG Help Desk can reset your password. For security reasons, you must visit the TAG Help Desk in person and verify your identity with a photo ID to have your password reset.
