Counseling Center services help students achieve their educational goals, learn the process of problem solving, increase and enhance their capacity for satisfying interpersonal relationships, define their career goals, and make full use of their potential for continued growth beyond their educational experience.
The function of the UAH Counseling Center is to provide the university community with mental health services aimed at maximizing the personal growth and development of its diverse members. These services are primarily offered to students and include a wide variety of preventive, curative, educational, and crisis management activities.
The Counseling Center is located organizationally within the division of Student Affairs. The major activities of the Center include: individual and group counseling services for personal and academic concerns, crisis management, outreach program development, consultation, and research.
