From our secretary...

Hello All,

We'll be placing our entry on Saturday, January 28th beginning at 10:00 a.m., so please come out and help.  Remember, dues are $25 and we take cash or checks made payable to UAH ASCE. If you plan on going to competition with us in March, you must pay dues.

Please be sure you are signing into the meetings so we have an accurate attendance count. We do turn these numbers in to the association in the Annual Report that is due in February.

Thank you,
Jeni Jordan

From the Top...

Hello everybody!

We need all the help that we can get for our 2011/12 stint.  So if you are interested in helping out, please let us know!

Contact: Matthew Pinkston at (256) 653-2862 for details.

From our paddling coaches...

Hi everyone!

Several of you have expressed interest in racing the concrete canoe, and we're really looking forward to meeting all of you.

If you think you'd like to give racing a try, definitely come and check it out.  We'll warn you, our canoes are pretty unstable at first, so bring a towel and a change of clothes, just in case!  (We promise, no one ever died from falling in the duck pond.  No one ever grew a third arm, either.)  If you decide you like it and want to be a part of the paddling team, we'll go ahead and set a practice schedule that accommodates everyone.

Contact: Katie for details.

Getting ready for competition...

Fund Raising:

We'll be working hard to raise funds for the regional and national competitions.  Please consider helping us out.

We really appreciate the help of all those people who helped so far.  Remember, the more people that we have this year, the easier things become and the more fun it is for everyone concerned.

We will be working in the West Wing of Tech Hall.  The current work schedule will be posted to the left; paddling schedules will be posted to the right.

ASCE Memberships:

UAH ASCE accepts members from all engineering disciplines, not just civil engineering. We collect local chapter dues ($25) but national student memberships are free for all of our student chapter members. So if you are interested in joining the UAH ASCE Chapter, contact one of the chapter officers.

Important Developments:

Our "HOT LINKS" program is a tremendous success and ConcreteCanoe.org remains at the top of the search engines.  We developed this site in an effort to bring all active concrete canoe sites, as well as pertinent activities, commentaries, rule changes, and other information provided by the CNCCC, ASCE, MBT, our competitors, and us to the attention of the general public.  You'll see little UAH bias there and we are receiving help from Wisconsin, Laval, Nevada-Reno, Clemson, etc.
