"Team UAH - Chargers"
University of Alabama in Huntsville

UAH is located in Huntsville, Alabama.  A member of the largest and most competitive region in the country, they have proudly represented the Southeast Conference sixteen times at the national level (1988, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2010).

Never finishing lower than ninth at nationals, their five national wins (1993, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2001) and three second place finishes (1992, 1997, and 1999) give Team UAH one of the strongest overall performance records in the competition.  UAH is one of five schools (the University of California - Berkeley, Cal Poly - SLO, Clemson, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison are the other four) that have won back-to-back national titles.  They have finished ten times in the top five and sixteen times in the top ten.  The Chargers remain the only team to have swept the National Concrete Canoe Competition (1994).  Their web site is very comprehensive and includes competition tips, vital statistics, scoring breakdowns, highlights, reviews, and pictures from previous national competitions.

The team's National Concrete Canoe Competition (NCCC) performance record stands as follows:

  • Best Overall (1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2001)
