"University of Wisconsin - Madison (Badgers)"

Presentation:

The University of Wisconsin - Madison represented the Great Lakes Conference and made their fifteenth national appearance.

The Badgers relied on 4  people to make their presentation; 3 men and 1 woman.  The presenters were dressed in formal attire.  The team used 1 screen and  included 1 video.

After introducing members, the team gave a brief history of their school and the rationale underlying their theme.  They explained the design parameters and went through the modeling that they did.  The men's endurance race was specified as the critical loading condition.  

The team explained how they designed a mix to meet the service loads and detailed the constituents that they used with an emphasis on recyclability.  They explained their test program including loading and adherence to ASTM standards. 

Form constriction came next followed by concrete canoe construction.  They explained how they prepared for construction and made arrangements for curing.  Then the team detailed the construction process.  

Then it was on to management, project scheduling, and training.  The team said that they adhered to green building practices before bringing heir presentation to conclusion.

  • What was the major obstacle that you faced during constriction of your canoe?
  • What were the top two aspects of your sustainably program? 
  • Can you describe your quality control program during construction?

The presentation went very smoothly and the team answered the questions quickly and concisely.
