"Universite Laval"
(7th place overall; 15th in paper; 5th in presentation; 13th in product)

Presentation:

The Universite of Laval represented the New England Conference and made their eighth national appearance.

Laval relied on 3 people to make their presentation; 2 men and 1 woman.  The presenters were dressed in formal attire.  The team used 1 screen and included 20+ video segments.

After giving a dynamic introduction, the team introduced themselves.  Then they explained the philosophy underlying their management.

The team explained how they digitally modeled the hull design and explained how they imported the design into a variety of software packages.  Then they described the development of the mix process and described how they approached sustainability.

The team explained how they achieved a smooth outer surface.  They explained how they saved on materials during form construction and then explained how they performed canoe construction.

The team described their crew training routines and reflected on the history of the school and its team members.  They ended up by saying that the winner of this competition will lead the pack in terms of innovation and they felt that their entry met that standard.
