Presentation:

Clemson represented the Carolinas Conference and made their sixteenth national appearance.

Clemson relied on 2 people to make their presentation; 1 man and 1 woman.  The presenters were dressed in business attire.  The team used 2 screens and included 3 video segments.

After giving as brief introduction the team explained how they would be breaqking down the effort.  They started with a structural analysis.  They performed a flexural analysis that was used as a basis for mix design.

They explained how the constituents were selected to meet the recycled materials requirements.  They elaborated on the admixtures employed and described their reinforcement scheme.  They mentioned that free fibers were added to prevent cracks.  They mentioned how they were able to be more efficient with modification sin mix design.

The team explained how they constructed their form and pre-batched their concrete.  The placement process was described along with the techniques employed to reduce sanding and finishing times.

Then the team described how their canoe was finished to make it aesthetically pleasing.  They described their training program and highlighted the attributes that are required to work as a team.  The team elaborated on how well they completed the work and then brought the presentation to conclusion.

  • Can you tell me how large your Von Mises was?

  • What was your rationale for using this approach?

  • Why not use tensile stress as a parameter?

  • How did you tie your reinforcing elements together at the gunwale?

  • What worked best for you as far as project management was concerned?
