Presentation:

Golden Stonefly was billed as an amazing new product and the drift boat of the future.  One male and one female member gave the presentation.

The analysis and design considerations of the hull were discussed and the requirements for the mix design were specified.  The steps taken to construct and finish the boat were discussed.  The specifications of the boat were given and for the first time in history a sales pitch was included.

The judges began by asking what were the expectations of prior designs and how did you improve on this.  Why did you remove the tumblehome?

Why was a 0.75” thickness selected?  What drove your selection for the spacing for the ribs?  Did the canoe meet your expectations?  How was surface hardness determined and why did you consider this parameter important?

Why did you select the class of fly ask that you did?  What do you expect to get out of this competition this year?  How was the bow shape selected?
