A maroon background complimented the photos and white text. Slides were clear and concise and the delivery was professional and businesslike. The team was asked what the secondary goals of the reinforcement were. They were questioned on the solvent used and asked if the displacement/strains rendered their concrete ductile or not. The team was questioned on apparent anomalies in their time line and schedule. They were asked to describe the reinforcement configuration employed in their monolithic rib design and asked what they meant by "durability." Product (1st): Name: Blue Flame Vital Stats: The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, located in Rapid City, South Dakota, was the representative from the Rocky Mountain Region. The team has been at nationals thirteen times and this was their ninth consecutive appearance. They have eleven top ten finishes to their credit including five in the top five. They won the national title in 1995. Display (11th): Canoe/Materials/Facts: The canoe was a lightweight, carbon fiber reinforced concrete canoe. |
