University" Design Paper (15th): Presentation (24th):
They were asked questions regarding the content and thickness of the fill primer added by a body shop, about the innovative features of their boat, and why they chose to employ a specific type of Portland cement. The judges asked questions regarding durability and how the latter was related to strength. The team was asked about their critical path and the milestones specified therein, why they chose to model the "gravity" case and the situation where four paddlers were present, and what they learned by reviewing the innovations displayed by other teams. Product (22nd): Name: S.S. Springfield Vital Stats: Rowan University, located in Glassboro, New Jersey, was the representative from the Metropolitan Region. This was the team's third consecutive appearance at nationals. Their highest finish was fourteenth in 2000. Display (24th): Canoe/Materials/Facts: Rowan's canoe had a narrow shallow hull. Micro-bubble aggregate, stucco mesh, and fiberglass reinforcement were used in its construction. |
