"Rochester Institute of Technology"
(21st place overall)

Design Paper (25th):

Presentation (17th):

RIT went with an animal theme.  Their businesslike power point presentation was made by three men and one woman dressed in formal and semi-formal attire.  Following the introduction of team members, the team was the first to describe their school.  The slides were simple and straightforward with text directly related to the narrative.

The team was asked about the alignment of their reinforcement and the air entrainment in their concrete.  They were asked why they considered their mix simple when it included air entrainment and super plasticizers.

The judges asked the team to specify the target value for the amount of air entrained and asked whether the team thought that their relatively shallow gunwale and small freeboard would present problems during race day.

The judges closed out the session by asking how the team chose the target values for their concrete strength.

In general, the team handled themselves quite well and maintained good body language while under fire.
