"Colorado State University"
(16th place overall)

Design Paper (19th):

Presentation (6th):

CSU’s theme was pride, power, and bravery that soars above all.  Their power point presentation was given by three team members (two male and one female) dressed in formal attire.  The team used microphones to accentuate their delivery.  The graphics were crisp and clear and the script well written and well delivered.  The construction and curing process was highlighted along with the project management.

The team was asked what impact tumblehome had on initial and final stability.  They were questioned regarding the manner in which pre-stress was applied and measured and how the reinforcement was integrated into the composite design.

The judges asked questions on the team's management structure and its efficiency.  The team was asked what is a pozzolonic clay, why the dye they used was not mentioned as an ingredient in the mix table, and why lime water was used in the mix.  The judges closed out the session by asking the team why they chose to use market value as opposed to the costs pre-specified in the rules for the competition.
