The University of Minnesota, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, qualified for nationals by winning the Mid-West Conference.  This year marked their eighth appearance.  It is the team's second consecutive appearance at the national level.  Their sixth place finish in 2001 is their highest to date.

Canoe/Materials/Facts:

The hull design was a modified version of the "Hassle Pro II."  This year the team used a male mold and female mold in the canoe construction process.  The entire system was vacuum bagged to ensure bonding between section components.
