Aurora was made of Type I Portland cement, carbon fiber, latex, metakaolin, and superplasticizer.  The canoe was sanded and pained with metallic blue paint and a thin clear coat.  The canoe was unique because it utilized loose-strand carbon fibers as internal reinforcement.  Aurora was inherently buoyant and was designed using Nautilus Pro-Surf.
