History
| On May 31, 1987, Omicron Zeta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville by 13 prominent ladies. Ernestine Stoner spearheaded the movement of Omicron Zeta at UAH and later became the first president. Carmen Battle, Sittra Washington Battle, Stacey Cole, Kathy Miller Copeland, Laurna Foreman, Yvette Garner, Tonya Hollins, Natalie Otey, Lea Phillips, Michelle Robinson, Karen Gilliam Scruggs, and Susan Scott walked alongside Ernestine Stoner in the chartering of the chapter. Gladys Nance served as the first graduate advisor, a member of Epsilon Gamma Omega, our sponsoring graduate chapter. |
