The Student Enrichment Support Services is an undergraduate academic support and retention program that focuses on UAH freshmen and sophomore students. The primary goal is to provide individualized programs for academic success. As a faculty member you are the first student contact and the one most intricately involved with and aware of your students’ academic status and progress. Should you become aware of a student who is struggling or absent for more than two class sessions please alert the Student Enrichment Support Services so we may initiate an intervention process.

The purpose of the Charger Early Awareness program is to ensure first and second year student success. The Program identifies students within the first three to six weeks of the semester who have:
• Received a D or F grade on an assignment, test, or paper
• Have excessive absences
• Exhibit behavior inconsistent with a productive and successful student

Early intervention has a positive impact on students’ future academic endeavors. The majority of college habits are formed within the first weeks of class. With your assistance, we can create a learning experience at UAH which meets the needs of all students. The intervention is positive, engaging and sensitive, versus disciplinary in nature.
