  • Advise the mentee about class scheduling, time management and study strategies


  • Listen to the mentee's issues and concerns


  • Share helpful academic experiences, graduate school opportunities and career planning  information


  • Be a cheerleader to the mentee's successes


  • Be the mentee's advocate and a resource in problem-solving


  • Advise and provide guidance for the mentee


  • Take the lead in scheduling meetings and other means of contact


  • Always offer constructive feedback


  • Complete mentoring feedback forms as requested, and submit a summation evaluation of their experience at the conclusion of the period.



2014-15 Mentors
