GOAL 5. Increase faculty involvement in the recruiting process.

While several action steps in the goals above include faculty involvement, it is important to have set activities that support the recruiting plan. The recruiters have to be the foundation for building the relationships with the prospective students, but faculty contact plays an important supporting role in the yield process.

● Action: Expand access to weekly admission reports to all faculty approved by deans.
The reports are for faculty to be able to communicate with admitted students to their college and department through phone calling, emailing, and writing. The reports are currently sent to Deans and Chairs. However, the Director of Admissions has received feedback from individual faculty members that they are not receiving the reports. The Director of Admissions will work with the deans’ offices and academic chairs on expanding the pool of appropriate faculty to receive the reports.
Timing: As soon as approved by academic deans.
Assessment: Percentage increase in admitted students called and increase in yield.

● Action: Plan and implement Faculty-Phone-A-Thons for admitted students.
Timing: Began Fall 2008, will continue every fall and spring term.
Assessment: Increase in yield.

● Action: Incorporate faculty chats into current online chat program.
Timing: Spring 2009
Assessment: Percentage increase in chat participation and increase in yield.

● Action: Secure database of faculty willing to meet with prospective students and have prospective students and parents attend their class. Database will be used as securing faculty for expanded campus experience tours.
Timing: In Progress, updated every fall and spring term.
Assessment: Percentage increase in yield rate.
