GOAL 4. Increase out-of-state recruiting efforts in order to reach out-of-state enrollment targets.
Increasing out-of-state enrollment is critical in order to increase revenues. There are several challenges in recruiting out-of-state students. The results from Stamats 2008 TeensTALK® survey indicate:
Nearly half of traditional age first-year students will stay within one hour of home, and 84% will stay within four hours from home.
Thirty-one percent of high school seniors plan on living at home for college.
Cost of attendance is a major factor in the decision making process.
While these challenges cannot be disregarded, they can be overcome through strong relationship building, marketing strength of academic programs, and promoting career opportunities for graduates.
