How can Career Development Assist You?

To adequately serve our students and alumni, there are specific Career Coordinators for each of the five colleges on Campus. Each Coordinator has the opportunity be come very familiar with programs of study within the college, to maintain relationships with faculty and staff and is able to inform students about all of the career opportunities available within each of the majors.

Career Coordinators are available Monday through Friday to assist you with any of your career development needs.

What services does the Career Development Office provide?

For those students who may be undecided about their major or who may be reconsidering the major they have chosen, the Career Development Office offers the STRONG Interest Inventory. This inventory assesses students' interests and personalities and aligns them with appropriate majors and career paths. Students can come in at any time between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to complete the inventory. We will then schedule a return appointment for students to come  in and work with a STRONG Certified Coordinator to receive a thorough assessment of the results.

The Career Development Office also offers Resume Writing and Critique, Mock Interviews, Workshops throughout the year, complete Career Coaching Services, Career Awareness Events and Career Fair.

Additionally, we offer experiential learning programs such as cooperative education and internship opportunities for students. We do not place students in these positions, but instead offer them all of the tools and resources available to seek, apply to and interview for these positions. To be eligible to participate, students must be currently enrolled at UAH in their chosen program of study and authorized to work in the United States.

Workshops and Seminars

Throughout the semester, the Career Development Office hosts informational events either presented by a member of the Student Success Center staff or by employers who partner with our program. These events are free and are open to currently enrolled students and UAHuntsville alumni. Topics vary each semester from resume building workshops to employer recruiting sessions. Events are posted on the Charger Path home page, on the Career Development Facebook page and other various methods campus wide.
