Looking into Monotone Operators

Abstract

For the past 40 years an extensive work concerning monotone operators has been done. Interesting problems such as the well-known minimum problem, the theory of variational inequalities, as well as the study of quasi-linear elliptic differential equations, can be seen as strongly connected to the theory of monotone operations. Particularly, we will discuss the solution of a functional equation involving monotone operators for general reflexive Banach spaces.
