Mathematical models have been used extensively to understand pattern morphogenesis in animals. In this talk, a tissue interaction model based on chick feather germ pattern formation proposed by Cruywagen and Murray will be discussed. A rigorous result on the existence of traveling wave solution for the model, its proof, and biological implications will be presented.
