RELIABILITY ENGINEERING:   Perform research to expand upon the body of knowledge in the reliability engineering discipline, with emphasis on structural materials and dynamic parts.

PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES:   Support the classroom in the College of Engineering by providing opportunities for empirical projects in conjunction with the lecture component of courses. [The Reliability Engineering Discipline encompasses reliability, maintainability, availability and sustainability engineering and analysis.]

The laboratory has a minimal permanent staff consisting of a Managing Director, Mr. F. Chris Sautter, and a Technical Director, Dr. Bill Wessels, PE CRE. Research projects are staffed on an on-call basis drawing from faculty, Research Institute Staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students from the College of Engineering.
