Search Committee UpdatesThe search for a new Provost for UAHuntsville is proceeding quite well. We have had an excellent response and have had some extremely well qualified applicants interested in the position. We will soon be reviewing the applications to select candidates to bring to campus later in the spring semester. We plan to have the new Provost in place prior to the start of Fall semester. Search Committee Update – November, 2007 UAH is being assisted in the search for a Provost and Executive Vice President by the firm of Russell Reynolds Associates. The Provost and Executive Vice President search committee and subcommittees have been very active this semester. We have met numerous times between September and November to prepare the position advertisement and the information for the search web page. At the first meeting in September Dr. Williams gave the charge to the committee and described his view of the role of this position. In early November Drs. Ilene Nagel and Paul Chou from Russell Reynolds Associates came to UAH and met with various groups of administrators, faculty, staff and students to get their input about UAH and the qualities and experience they would like to see in the person in this position. The ad for the position appeared in the Chronicle of Higher Education online on Nov. 27 and will be in the Nov. 30 print version. For the next several months we will be receiving and reviewing applications and expect to have campus interviews with candidates sometime after the middle of March, 2008.
