Dr. Cassibry is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Alabama in Huntsville.  Prior to this, he worked as an assistant research professor at UAH.  His research involves the theoretical application of fluid mechanics, magnetohydrodynamics, and thermodynamics in the study of plasmas with application to plasma acceleration, in-space propulsion, and fusion energy science.  Specific research areas include smooth particle hydrodynamic modeling, magneto-inertial fusion, directly and inductively-coupled pulsed electromagnetic accelerators, MHD modeling, and high temperature equations of state.
