The UAH Propulsion Research Center works in close cooperation with the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering to prepare proposals and perform research programs. We hosted a lunch on May 21, 2012 to recognized past and present OSP personnel and the team members of a recent joint PRC/MAE proposal to NASA.
Conseula Duckworth receives Outstanding
Ms. Consuela Duckworth was recognized as an Outstanding Contract Administrator in appreciation of her four years of service to the UAHuntsville Propulsion Research Center. From 2007 to 2011 she prepared 131 proposals totaling over $15,585,618.07. These proposals resulted in 104 award actions totaling $5,277,068.09. In addition to preparing proposals, she monitored these awards and diligently kept the operations on the PRC synchronized with our customers and in compliance with all required regulations. In particular, she is recognized for administering our NASA LOX-Methane Award. This 1.2 million dollar program helped setup three major laboratories at the Propulsion Research Center and resulted in several advanced degrees. The project was particularly challenging as there were hundreds of purchase orders processed to accomplish the results. For her diligent and reliable performance, all of the staff, associated faculty, and students of the UAHuntsville Propulsion Research Center recognize Consuela Duckworth as an Outstanding Contract Administrator for her contributions to our research programs.
|Gloria Green, Petra Dotson, and Dr. Frederick|
Ms. Petra Dotson was recognized as an Outstanding Contract Administrator in appreciation of her year of service to the UAHuntsville Propulsion Research Center. In 2008, she prepared 38 proposals totaling over $9,817,087.00. These proposals resulted in 31 award actions totaling over $1,009,392.30. In addition to proposals, she meticulously monitored these awards and exhibited outstanding orderliness and professionalism in all of her work. In particular, she is recognized for preparing several very large proposals to MDA, NSF, and EPSCORE. All of the staff, associated faculty, and students of the UAHuntsville Propulsion Research Center recognize Petra Dotson an Outstanding Contract Administrator for her contributions to our research programs.
|Gloria Greene, Antonia Pitts (receiving PRC Booster Award), and Bob Frederick|
Ms. Antonia Pitts was recognized with a PRC Booster Award in appreciation of her heroic efforts in successfully preparing and submitting our recent proposal entitled, “Experimental and Computational Validation of Liquid Rocket Engine Combustion Dynamics and Instabilities.” With only 4 working days to process, she assisted our team in putting together a proposal that involved complex cost sharing, over 350 pages of instructions, and several late breaking changes. For her efforts above and beyond the call of duty, her cheerfulness under pressure, and her attentiveness to detail, the Propulsion Research Center presents her with the first PRC Booster Award.
Sarma Rani, Gabe Xu, David Lineberry, Keith Hollingsworth, Matthew Hitt, John Bennewitz, Anthony Edmondson, and Gloria Greene each received a certificate of appreciation signed by Dr. Robert Frederick, Interim Director of the PRC, and Dr. Keith Hollingsworth, Chair of the UAH Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, for their significant roles in putting together a recent NRA response to NASA. The team displayed excellent working relations under a difficult timeline and responded to critiques in very positive ways to produce an excellent proposal. Congratulations, in particular, go to Dr. Sarma Rani, the Principal Investigator. In addition, Richard Tyson, Paul Collopy, Mike Rudolphi, and Laurie Provin were recognized for their excellent review of our draft document and specific recommendations that enabled us to refocus the proposal on how our ideas were consistent with customer objectives.
