Providing the student with basic, fundamental knowledge of Data Warehousing in general, this course also covers the techniques for Data Warehousing for Oracle databases. Begin with the basic logical design structures of Data Warehousing and techniques for implementing design. You will learn efficient techniques for migrating the logical design to the physical data warehouse database including data partitioning, proper indexing, and data compression. Other areas discussed are techniques of loading the Data Warehouse including the Extraction, Transformation, Load (ETL) process; identifying the data sources; defining and maintaining metadata for the database; and managing summaries of the data.
Prerequisites:
Oracle Fundamentals
or at least one year experience working with Oracle databases.
