Non-Credit Course Policies

Registration & Payment

Payment is due at the time of registration. Fees for company-sponsored individuals will be considered paid when an authorization to bill the sponsoring company has been received by the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies Registration Office.

Discounts

All discounts must be redeemed at the time of registration.

Course Cancellations

The University reserves the right to cancel any course when insufficient registration occurs. The Division of Professional and Continuing Studies apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause you. If a course is cancelled, a student may apply paid fees to another class or receive a complete refund.

Withdrawal Policies

  • Professional Development
    Failure to participate in a course or program does not constitute withdrawal. For a full refund, the Professional and Continuing Studies Registration Office must be notified directly at least one full business day prior to the course start date, or prior to logging onto any On-Demand distance learning course. Withdrawal requests for On-Demand distance learning courses must be received no more than 10 business days from the initial date of registration. Substitutions are permitted with prior notice.

    Full Program Discounts will be forfeited with any course withdrawal. The full course fee will be charged for any courses completed and the course in progress, if applicable.
  • Health & Physical Education
    Noncredit: Failure to participate in a non-credit HPE course does not constitute withdrawal. For a full refund, the Professional and Continuing Studies Registration office must be notified directly within at least 10 business days from the course start date. Individuals who fail to attend without notification are responsible for the entire fee. Substitutions are permitted with prior notice.
  • Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UAH
    No refunds will be issued for withdrawals.

Services for Students with Disabilities

UAHuntsville Disability Support Services (DSS) provides special accommodations for students with disabilities. Individuals should contact DSS at 256.824.6203 (Room 113 University Center) at least one month prior to the start date of class to allow advanced preparation. Official documentation of stated disability is required.

Misprints

The Division of Professional and Continuing Studies shall not be held responsible for misprints with regards to course fees, dates, etc. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Tax Deduction

Treasury regulations may permit an income tax deduction for educational and training exercises or expenses (registration fees, travel, meals, and lodging) undertaken to maintain and improve professional skills.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

UAHuntsville awards Continuing Education Units (CEUs) based on one CEU unit for each 10 instructional hours. A certificate will be issued to each person who successfully completes a class. Transcripts are available from the Professional and Continuing Studies Registration Office upon written request for a $5 fee per transcript.

Parking Regulations

For courses lasting less than 15 weeks, a parking permit is included in the course fee and will be issued at the opening session of class. Students enrolled in a course lasting longer than 15 weeks must register their vehicle and display a current UAHuntsville Student Parking Decal. Inclement Weather

If UAHuntsville closes due to inclement weather, UAHuntsville PCS classes will not meet. Check local radio and television broadcasts for closing announcements.
