Develop knowledge related to basic materials constituents and mechanics of composite materials including:

  • Processes and procedures used for original manufacture and repair;
  • Laminate analysis methods for composites applicable to both manufacturing and repair, with an emphasis on composite repair analysis;
  • Adhesively bonded and bolted joint analysis requirement, with an emphasis on composite joints for repair analysis;
  • Methods to improve damage tolerance and durability of composites;
  • Understanding damage growth in composites;
  • Bonded and bolted joint analysis for composite repairs.

Prerequisites:
Undergraduate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
