Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is an American Heart Association Certification that is required for all UAHuntsville Nursing students and is recognized by most hospitals. It is intended to provide healthcare professionals the ability to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
