Reservation Information
WHAT TO DO NOW
Please complete the online registration form and send it back to us no later than one week prior to the session you wish to attend. Please give
us your first and second choice for the sessions you would like to attend.
Every effort will be made to accommodate your first choice. Indicate only the sessions that you are able to attend. You may reserve your session on-line at www.uah.edu/orientation or call 256-824-6203 as soon as possible, since space is limited. Enclose a check/money order for the appropriate parent fee(s). Include with your reservation the total parent COMPASS fee, plus the additional fee if an extra night of housing is necessary (see the reservation card for the extra night housing fee). Again, please make your check payable to UAH.
For more information, please view our web site:
www.uah.edu/orientation

Freshman School Supply Drive - Bring with you to orientation
The mission of the Student Service-Learning and Volunteer Services program is to provide UAH students with opportunities for service on and off campus. As an incoming freshman, you can play an integral part in this mission by participating in our fall school supply drive benefiting local Title I schools. Just bring your donations of school supplies (pencils, paper, crayons, etc.) with you to your orientation session.
After classes begin, we will distribute the supplies to elementary and middle school students in the Huntsville City School System. This community service project will not only allow you to give back to the community by donating supplies, but you will also learn about the specific challenge that students in Title I schools face and how, as college students, you can work together to overcome those challenges.
UPON ARRIVING:
You and your parents or family members will check in at the lobby of the University Center. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m for those needing placement test(s) and 10:00 a.m. for those who do not need testing. If you arrive after
11:30 a.m., you will check in for the COMPASS program at the Central Campus Residence Hall, later in the day.
Commercial shuttle service is available from Huntsville International Airport to the UAH campus. Approximate one-way cost (at the time of
publication) is $13.00.
Participants whose travel arrangements require them to arrive the night before the program need to indicate this on the reservation card and
should enclose the appropriate additional fees. These participants should make arrangements to check in at the Central Campus Residence Hall
between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the day prior to the session.
Note: Casual dress would be appropriate attire.
Special Accommodations:
The Disability Support Services (DSS) Office is committed to providing academic support and physical accessibility to all COMPASS orientation
program participants with disabilities. If you need special accommodations for COMPASS, contact the DSS office in Room 113 of the University Center at (256) 824-6203 at least two weeks before your COMPASS
session.
Band and Choir Auditions:
Choir and band auditions are available during each session. Please call the Music Department prior to your arrival at (256) 824-6436 to arrange a time for an audition.
