Our New Student Orientation is a 2-day program that will help prepare you for the personal, social and academic changes ahead. Rest assured, Orientation will help make your transition to UAHuntsville as smooth as possible. We also realize you are not alone in this transition. That's why we created a custom program for families and guests that runs concurrent with the student orientation program.  Please keep in mind, all students will stay overnight on-campus as a part of their orientation experience despite their proximity to campus. This will ensure all students get the most out of their orientation experience. *Please note the August 15-16 Orientation will not have over night accommodations to help transition our campus for Univeristy Move-In.  If you are attending this session and living on-campus please complete the Early Move-In Request Form with University Housing.

Selecting Your Orientation Date

First-Time Freshmen are required to attend the entire 2-day program to successfully register for courses. Please plan your schedule and travel accordingly. Also keep in mind that sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis by academic major. Day 1 of Orientation begins at 8:00 AM and the program concludes on Day 2 at 2:00 PM. Changes in your selected orientation date need to be emailed to orientation@uah.edu.

Orientation Cost

The cost of orientation for all new first-time students is $150, which is assessed on the student’s account along with their tuition and student fees. Student accounts are paid by the first day of class each semester.  The cost for each guest or family member to attend is $70 payable during registration. If your guests would like to stay on-campus the cost is $90 per guest.  Orientation fees include lunch and dinner on day 1, and breakfast on day 2. You will also get your first UAHuntsville t-shirt and lots of other UAH memorabilia. The Orientation program also offers evening entertainment for students and guests to unwind after a long day of discovery. *Please note the August 15-16 Orientation will not have over night accommodations to help transition our campus for Univeristy Move-In

Please note that orientation fees are non-refundable.
