PROFILE:
A public, comprehensive research institution that is part of the three-member University of Alabama System. UAH Offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees in the College of Administrative Science, the College of Engineering, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Science, the College of Nursing, and the School of Graduate Studies.

BACKGROUND:
Now serving over 7,264 students, UAH first offered extension courses in 1950 for the University of Alabama, and became an autonomous campus in 1969.

STUDENTS:
Of total enrollment, 46 percent are female and 54 percent are male. UAH students come from 45 states in the U.S. and from 78 foreign countries.

FACULTY:
There are 289 full-time faculty members, 91 percent of whom hold a terminal degree in their field. |
LOCATION:
UAH is located in Huntsville, Alabama, which is in the north central section of the state. It is two hours from Birmingham, Alabama or from Nashville, Tennessee on Interstate 65; it is four hours
from Atlanta, Georgia. The campus is accessible by bus or via airlines that serve the North Alabama area and operate out of the Huntsville International Airport.

Thirty-nine major buildings located on 400 acres in Cummings Research Park, and adjacent to the Space and Rocket Center, Redstone Arsenal, and Marshall Space Flight Center.

| ACCREDITATION:
The University of Alabama in Huntsville is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Several UAH programs are accredited by their respective accrediting agencies. Academic programs in chemistry are accredited by the American Chemical Society. Six undergraduate engineering programs (chemical, civil, computer, electrical, industrial and systems, and mechanical) are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Both undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing (CCNG). Computer Science holds accreditation from the Computer Sciences Accreditation Board (CSAB). Programs in music and music education are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). All programs, both undergraduate and graduate, in the College of Adminstrative Science are accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) - The International Association for Management Education. |
DEFERRED PAYMENT PLAN:
Students enrolling for at least three semester hours of credit are eligible for the installment plans. These plans enable total tuition, housing and other current charges to be divided into two or four payments each semester.
TWO PAYMENT PLAN: The first payment of at least half of the total amount of charges is due by the first day of the semester. The second payment of the remaining balance is due the end of the sixth week of the semester. There is a $20 on-refundable administration fee that must accompany the installment agreement form.
FOUR PAYMENT PLAN: The first payment of at least 25% of the total amount of charges is due by the first day of the semester with monthly payments thereafter. There is a $50 non-refundable administration fee that must accompany the installment agreement form.
Installment agreement forms are available in the Bursar’s Office (UC 214), Bursar’s Office website (BURSAR.UAH.EDU) and Charger Central (UC 118). After completion, the installment agreement form should be presented with the first payment to the Cashier’s Office. The installment plans are
only offered for the Fall and Spring semesters and an installment agreement form must be complete each semester. International student insurance
and international student fees must be paid with the first payment.

WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY:
Students may withdraw from any or all courses up through the second week of the semester and receive a full refund.

Located in the University Center, Charger Central is the student’s one-stop shop, where all your questions about admissions, financial aid,
records, and registration can be answered.
Charger Central is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in order to serve the students’ varied schedules.
