Aug 07, 2014 | Drew Hamilton Huntsville, AL August 26, 2014 Joe Paxton, a UAH Lean Healthcare trainer and facilitator, presented "Initial Results of a Lean Training and Implementation Deployment” to the VHA Southeast Lean Six Sigma Network in August, 2014. UAH Lean Healthcare practitioners are supporting Huntsville Hospital in training and mentoring their healthcare providers in the implementation of lean concepts throughout the hospital in medical, surgical and administrative areas. UAH initiated a training and implementation program with a pilot group at Huntsville Hospital in May. Those trained in the pilot group were divided into small teams and each team selected a project to address real problems by applying the concepts they learned in the UAH Lean Healthcare training. UAH has continued to support and mentor these teams through project completion. Mr. Paxton shared the results of this training and implementation deployment to several healthcare providers at the VHA Southeast Lean Six Sig ma Network session in August.
