Training Session Descriptions

Introduction to Panopto and Classroom Technologies

This session will introduce users to our Smart Monitor technology and the Panopto lecture capture system. UAH's standardized classroom audiovisual system will be covered and participants will be shown how to plug in and use their own devices to deploy classroom technologies. Canvas I Training

This Canvas training course is designed for users with no prior experience with the learning management system. Topics to be covered will include 1) accessing Canvas, 2) navigating the interface, 3) personal settings, 4) customizing course-level settings, 5) adding a syllabus, and 6) publishing a course. Canvas II Training

This Canvas training course builds upon the fundamentals discussed in the Introduction to Canvas session. Topics to be covered include 1) creating assignments, 2) gradebook basics, 3) grading schemes, 4) points/weighted groups, and 5) attendance. Access the online Canvas II Training course now.

Using the Canvas Gradebook

This Canvas training course builds upon both the Introduction to Canvas and Canvas Basics sessions. The gradebook will be discussed at a more advanced level. Topics to be covered include 1) grading schemes (how to set them and how to build your own), 2) points/weighted groups, 3) Speedgrader, 4) Rubrics, and 5) publishing grades to Banner. Access to an online version of this course coming soon!

Quizzes in Canvas

This training will cover the Canvas quiz tool for building assessments. Users should feel comfortable with the material discussed in both the Introduction to Canvas and Canvas Basics sessions before attending this course. Topics to be covered include 1) quiz settings, 2) question types, 3) quiz banks vs. quiz groups and 4) Respondus LockDown Browser. Access to an online version of this course coming soon!

Organizing Course Content in Canvas

This Canvas training course builds upon the fundamentals discussed in the Introduction to Canvas session. Topics to be covered include 1) file management, 2) page creation and page management, and 3) modules. Access to an online version of this course coming soon!

Canvas Tools for Collaborative Learning

Turnitin Training

Turnitin is a plagiarism prevention and originality checking service which also allows for online grading and peer reviews. This training course will introduce you to Turnitin. Access the online Turnitin Training course now.

TurningPoint (Clicker) Training

TurningPoint is a polling platform that that allows users to incorporate interactive questions within PowerPoint presentations, poll audiences on-the-fly, over top of any application or deliver self-paced surveys, evaluations and tests. It is a particularly helpful tool for large-enrollment courses. Respondus Training
