Meeting and Event Support - Network Access

Overview Technical support for meetings and events that require the use of network services including guest WiFi, wired connections, local printing, and access to local or remote servers/services.

Requirements
  • Requisitions must be received at least 7 business days in advance of the date of the event. Late requests will be accommodated based on staff and equipment availability.
  • A brief description of the meeting requirements, e.g. date, location, number of attendees, and technical specifications.
Special Note The use of the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) network is subject to compliance with state and federal law and published policy including, but not limited to, the Alabama Supercomputer Authority Acceptable Use Policy (AREN) and the UAH General Computer Use Policy. These policies may be found on the OIT website (oit.uah.edu). Violation or non-adherence to the law or to these policies are grounds for suspension and/or revocation of network privileges and may result not only in the discontinuation of services, but judicial, civil, or criminal charges depending on the nature and severity of the offense.
Cost

No charge at this time. However, if a consultation determines an outsourced solution is the best fit for your event, there could be associated charges to the service provider.

Getting Started
  • To request network services for your event/meeting, please contact the OIT Help Desk and provide the date, time, and location with an approximate number of attendees as well as any technical requirements.
  • Requisitions must be received at least 7 business days in advance of the date of the event. Late requests will be accommodated based on staff and equipment availability.
