Getting Started with Classroom AV

UAH Basic Technology Classrooms

These rooms include a lectern or ADA desk, a PC with Blu-ray player and widescreen monitor, digital projector, and wide-format projection screen. A touchscreen control system allows the presenter to power the projector on and off, switch presentation sources, and control the volume of the audio system. The presenter is able to connect digital and analog devices to the system such as laptops, tablets, and cell phones.

UAH Enhanced Technology Classrooms

These rooms include a lectern or ADA desk, a PC with Blu-ray player and widescreen monitor, digital projector, and wide-format projection screen. A touchscreen control system allows the presenter to power the projector on and off, switch presentation sources, and control the volume of the audio system. The presenter is able to connect digital and analog devices to the system such as laptops, tablets, and cell phones. The Enhanced level room adds features that allow for recording and online streaming of classes. These features include a video camera to record the instructor during presentations and demonstrations, overhead microphones for capture of lecture audio, and a Smart Podium monitor for annotating presentation materials. The annotations can be recorded by lecture capture software installed on the PC. The camera is controlled by the presenter using the touchscreen control panel.
