BSN Curriculum and Prerequisites
There are two components to the BSN curriculum. The lower division (pre-professional) component is for students admitted to the university with a nursing major. The upper division (professional) component includes the clinical component of the nursing curriculum and is restricted to students who have been admitted to the nursing program.

Summer semesters are optional and are great alternatives to decrease credit hours or satisfy coursework.
Note: All prerequisite courses must be completed with a "C" or better. Students who have earned 30 semester hours of coursework at UAH by the application deadline and meet the priority GPA, qualify for priority admission consideration.
* Fine Arts - Choose one of the following: ARH 100 or 101 or 103 (Art History/Appreciation) ARS 123 or 160 (Drawing) or 250 (Photography) or CM 122 (Theater) or MU 100 (Music Appreciation)
* History - Choose one: World History (103/104) or US History (221/222)
* Literature - Choose one: British Literature (205/206), American Literature (230/231), World Literature (240/241)
* Sequence Requirement: Students must complete a two course sequence in Literature or History
** Social Science Electives: Any psychology, sociology, history, political science, economics, or geography
** Arts/Humanities Electives: Any art, music, literature, theatre, speech, philosophy, ethics, or foreign language
