Six students at UAHuntsville were recently awarded NASA funded Alabama Space Grant Consortium Fellowships and Scholarships. The Alabama Space Grant Consortium (ASGC), is a member of the NASA National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program. In Alabama, more than $500,000 is awarded in Space Grant Scholarships and Fellowships each year.

Next week, seven students from The University of Alabama in Huntsville will fly to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston to test their miniature satellite in a microgravity environment. But that flight will be tame compared to what they will experience as they find out how strong their stomachs are on multiple flights aboard NASA’s “Vomit Comet.”

Lori Lioce, clinical assistant professor of nursing at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAHuntsville) College of Nursing, is the new vice president of operations for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL). Lioce will serve a two-year term from 2012 to 2014.
